Meet Dr. Agnaldo Castro
Dr. Agnaldo Castro, a plastic surgeon associated with the Federal University of São Paulo and a member of the Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery, specializes in both aesthetic and reconstructive procedures.

Botulinum Toxin
This procedure aims to re-program facial muscles, leading to a more relaxed and rested face. The botulinum toxin promotes muscle paralysis, smoothing dynamic wrinkles (those that appear with movement) and expression lines. Furthermore, botulinum toxin can also be used for other therapeutic purposes such as treating bruxism, hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), gummy smile, rosacea, and headaches among other specific conditions. The procedure is performed using needles, after applying local anesthetic, for greater patient comfort. The effects of the toxin begin to appear between 2 and 4 days after the procedure, reaching its peak of action approximately 15 days later. Its duration varies from 3 to 5 months, depending on the individual characteristics of each patient.
Dermal Filler
Filling with hyaluronic acid is a procedure that aims to recover facial restructuring and offer a shaped facial contour, by replacing volume that has been reabsorbed over time. In addition, hyaluronic acid also provides deep skin hydration and facial beautification, smoothing wrinkles and improving the appearance of hollowness under the eyes, smile lines, and so on. Filling can be performed using a needle or cannula, after applying local anesthetic for greater patient comfort. The effect is immediate, but the result itself is best evaluated after approximately 4 weeks, when the swelling is gone and the hyaluronic acid integrates naturally into the patient’s body. The duration of results varies from 9 to 18 months.
Collagen Booster
Collagen boosters are a great option to minimize the drop in collagen production that naturally occurs in the body after the age of 30. Lower concentrations of collagen leads to loss of firmness and sagging skin. Therefore, the stimulation of its production with this procedure creates collagen “savings,” contributing to the improvement of skin texture and quality. Products that are mostly used are poly L lactic acid (Sculptra®️) and calcium hydroxyapatite (Radiesse®️). They can be applied to both, the face and body, in areas such as the neck, chest, abdomen, thighs and hands, among others. The procedure is generally performed using a cannula, after applying local anesthesia for patient comfort. Collagen production begins after approximately 4 weeks and the effect is most evident after around 3 to 4 months. Results last on average 1 to 2 years.
